How are schools doing it?  Community and parent involvement, changes in instructional practices, teacher professional development, and integration of technology in the classroom are key contributing factors.   More importantly though, as one school district official said, “The equation for success is nothing new that hasn’t been understood through many generations and timeless best practices.   Our schools are doing it the ‘old school way’.  Great students, dedicated people, a belief in kids, the best teachers, smart decisions, and hard work.”
