Welcome to Belknap elementary

Belknap Elementary School Parents:

Our teachers and staff have been working hard the past two days to modify lesson plans and materials in order to be ready for the digital teaching/learning model that we are now going to implement in our district. Our goal at Belknap is to continue to deliver quality instruction and to provide meaningful learning experiences for Belknap students during this period of time that we are in our Soft Closure.

Beginning Friday, March 19th, teachers and staff will be available during school hours to help students as they work on assignments and materials.  Teachers will be sending and reviewing work through digital means. Younger grade levels may be using packets as supplemental material. Teachers will be reaching out to parents when this happens.  Teachers will be available for students to contact them with specific questions and help on lessons and material that is sent to the students. Students can contact teachers through email, Google Classroom, or by calling during school hours.  Parents and students will need to be monitoring their school email account, Google Classroom, Remind, etc. for information from their teachers. It is important to remember that we are still counting these days as school days. Attendance will be recorded daily as shown by students providing evidence that they have completed their assignments on a daily basis.  It is important for students to maintain a consistent daily school schedule to ensure they are dedicating the time necessary to complete their assignments and tests.

For those students who do not have access to Wi-Fi, the district is in the process of remedying that situation.  In the meantime, you may access school Wi-Fi from the parking lot and the exterior of the school.

We realize that as we begin this model of instruction/learning, adjustments to how we facilitate instruction may be needed.  It is important that we all remain patient with each other as we work through this together. Please don’t forget to check the district website for the most current information regarding this situation at www.beaver.k12.ut.us.

Also, as some of  you may be aware, Beaver County School District has received a grant which will provide breakfast and lunch for all children ages 18 and younger at no charge to the family regardless of their enrollment status. More information was provided in a previous post.

Thank you,

Principal Brad Harris
